Monnica T. Williams
Monnica T. Williams, Ph.D., serves as the expert consultant on all sites developed at Terwilliger Web Development Services. Originally from Northern California's Silicon Valley, Dr. Williams has been involved in the Internet since its inception. She received her undergraduate degree from M.I.T. in 1992, and worked in the UCLA Department of Computer Science until 2000. She holds a Doctoral Degree in Clinical Psychology from the University of Virginia as of 2007. She has also served as research and instructional faculty at the University of Virginia and clinical faculty at the University of Pennsylvania.
Dr. Williams has developed and manages multiple health-related websites and is particularly interested in using the Internet as a means of public education. She has written many articles on the topics of mental health, including obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), contraception, and women's health. She is also interested in the potential of the Internet as a research tool, and has published work in peer-reviewed professional journals based on this topic.
Dr. Williams has been active for over 10 years helping pregnancy centers develop a web presence. She has served as Lead Counselor for the Westside Pregnancy Resource Center in Los Angeles, where she worked for over six years assisting women in crisis. She has worked with A Woman's Concern pregnancy center in Dorchester, MA and served on the Public Relations Committee of The Pregnancy Centers of Central Virginia. She has also served on the board of directors of several other non-profit organizations, including the OC & Spectrum Disorders Association, the Brookline Women's Shelter, and the National Alliance for the Mentally Ill.
